This weekend was a big one for Mike Manning (ex-Charlie Dale, Days of our Lives), who took top honors in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Daytime Fiction Program category for his work as The Bay's Caleb McKinnon at the Daytime Emmys Fiction and Lifestyle Programming Awards, and then revealed that he is married!
Fans were surprised and ecstatic when the actor included his husband in his acceptance speech -- which served as the first public mention that Manning has made about being a married man. Later, in a chat with Soap Opera Digest, the actor elaborated on his until-now secret union.
"I grew up thinking I would never get married and I just sort of accepted that," he shares. "To be able to marry my best friend in front of my family and my friends, and I'm the oldest child so it was the first wedding in my family, was very special and very important."
For now, Manning has decided not to share his spouse's name. "He's not in the business, and he hates attention and he works in finance, so it's completely different from what I do," he notes. "But he's very supportive, so I lucked out."
