Being an actor is a tough business, as evidenced by James Nigbor's current situation. The young performer, who plays General Hospital's Jake, has been let go from the ABC soap.
According to Nigbor's Twitter account, which is run by his parents, he has finished his run as Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Jason's (Billy Miller) son and will soon be replaced by another actor.
Nigbor's parents posted images of the young actor as he's grown up, writing, "This is for my son, James. You will always be our Liason baby. Thank you to all the fans for my loving boy."
When concerned fan responses came flooding in, Nigbor's parents revealed that their son has been recast, but they thank everyone for their "love and support."
"We feel truly blessed to have been a part of GH and for him to have had this opportunity," they wrote.
According to Nigbor's Twitter account, he will last air on Tuesday, March 29.
GH wasn't the first soap opera gig for Nigbor. Prior to joining GH in 2007, he played The Bold and the Beautiful's Jack Marone. He also didn't always play Jake on his own. From 2007 to 2011, he shared the role with his brother, Edward.
