Former General Hospital bad boy, Ted King, is returning to ABC's daytime lineup -- but he won't be returning to Port Charles. The fan-favorite actor has landed a role on One Life to Live.
Though the network is not revealing many of the details of King's new daytime alter ego, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that King will play opposite Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer).
"We're creating this together," King told EW exclusively. "It was an opportunity I couldn't pass up on. When I was originally hired (for GH), it was for a short period of time. I had every intention of going back to primetime. But during that time, I really enjoyed myself with the role -– a lot more than I thought."
King's addition to the One Life to Live cast effectively shoots down the rumors that he would be returning to General Hospital as its international criminal mastermind, the Balkan. King had previously appeared on General Hospital from 2002 to 2007 as twins Lorenzo and Luis Alcazar.
In an unusual twist of events, Soap Opera Weekly reported that King's new OLTL character would be named Luis! New reports, however, state that the actor will play the role of Tomas.
In addition to his work on General Hospital, King also appeared in daytime as Danny Roberts on Loving and The City in the 1990s. Outside of daytime, King recently guest-starred as Downey on FOX's primetime series, Prison Break.
Last month, King and his wife, May a, welcomed a new baby daughter, Ava Celeste. The little girl is the couple's first child.
King will first on January 21.
