Hot on the heels of her role as Michelle Obama in the film Southside With You comes word that former One Life to Live star Tika Sumpter (ex-Layla Williamson) is set to topline and co-executive produce the new CBS drama The 313.
The political series follows a 29-year-old city council president (Sumpter), who suddenly becomes the mayor of Detroit after a sex scandal brings down the current administration, Deadline reports.
