The Young and the Restless has started 2016 off with a bang by hiring famed British producer Mal Young to join its behind-the-scenes team.
Known for his work on EastEnders, the high-profile producer took to Twitter with a message that confirms he's working on daytime's number one soap opera. "End of week one and loving my new @YandR_CBS family."
In addition to EastEnders, Young has produced the European soap opera Brookeside and served as co-creator to And the Beat Goes On and the BBC's Doctors.
At this time, Y&R has yet to comment on exactly what role Young plays at the daily drama, but fans are hoping he'll bring a fresh perspective to the American soap opera scene.
What do you think about Y&R bringing on a British producer? What kind of changes would you like the show to make in the year ahead -- if any?
