Oh, gee golly, here's news that's holly and jolly: Days of our Lives actress Aloma Wright (Nurse Maxine) is starring in her very own Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) holiday feature film!
Wright plays the lead in the upcoming Baking Christmas, which centers around a bakery owner who hosts a Christmas bake-off to decide which of her children will take over the enterprise when she retires. The gloves come off and the frosting flies as the siblings vie for control of the bakery in an unforgettable competition to create the best-ever Christmas confection.
In addition to Wright -- who's also known for roles on shows like Private Practice and Scrubs -- Baking Christmas will star Tim Reid, Khalilah Joi, and Ambitions' Yohance Myles.
Original holiday movies have been a long-time staple on networks like Hallmark and Lifetime, but this year's holiday flicks are a first for OWN, which is also airing One Fine Christmas and Carole's Christmas this season.
"We are excited to bring holiday movies to OWN," says Tina Perry, president, OWN. "This special time of year is about spending time with the ones you love, and we think our viewers are going to enjoy watching these movies together throughout the season.
Wright's Baking Christmas is set to air on Friday, November 28, at 9PM ET on OWN.
If you are feeling Christmasy and want to see even more of Wright, her 2014 film Second Chance Christmas can be found on some streaming services.
