Due to ABC News coverage of the solar eclipse, General Hospital did not air. This was a planned preemption, and there were no "lost" episodes as a result of the programming change.
Regular programming resumed Tuesday, April 9, and picked up where the Friday, April 5, 2024, episode concluded.
At the Corinthos Coffee warehouse, Jason told Diane that he would be working out of the office because he still owned 50 percent of Corinthos Coffee. Jason was surprised to learn that his estate had been stuck in probate since his presumed death in 2021, but Diane assured him that it would make it easier to transfer everything back to Jason, since his estate hadn't been equally divided between Jake and Danny, with the other half going to Carly.
Jason asked why Carly was running Bobbie's and had given up Metro Court. Diane chuckled. "In a word, Nina," Diane said. Diane explained that Sonny and Carly's marriage had fallen apart because Sonny had chosen Nina over Carly. She told Jason about Drew and Michael's "ill-advised scheme" to seize control of ELQ and merge it with Aurora Media, which Carly had insisted on investing in by leveraging her half of the Metro Court "Carly could not buy back her half of the hotel, so Nina swooped in and purchased it," Diane said. She added that Bobbie had stepped in and given the diner to Carly.
Jason was curious why Nina would want the hotel. "Because Nina Reeves thinks that Carly is the reason for everything that's wrong with her life," Diane said. Next, Diane filled Jason in about Nina tipping off the SEC to Drew and Carly's insider trading, and that Drew had taken the fall and spent time in prison, while Carly had paid a $5,000,000 fine. Diane conceded that Carly was not the easiest client, but she was "astonishingly resilient." "Yeah, she is," Jason said.
Before Diane left, Jason asked her to let Sonny know that Jason would be working at the warehouse.
At Sonny's penthouse, Kristina stopped by for a visit with her father. Ava claimed that Sonny was resting, and she said she would let Sonny know that Kristina had stopped by. Kristina insisted on waiting for her father. Just then, Sonny walked into the living room and warmly greeted his daughter. After Kristina and Sonny sat down, Kristina told Sonny about her argument with Josslyn. Sonny told Kristina that what Josslyn thought didn't matter, and he didn't want Kristina fighting his battles. Kristina was alarmed when she saw Ava hand Sonny a glass of alcohol.
As Ava quietly stood nearby, carefully eavesdropping, she heard Sonny and Kristina talk about Blaze being named the new Face of Deception and how Kristina was happy to keep their relationship low profile because Kristina had no desire to be in the limelight with Blaze. Sonny was surprised when Kristina mentioned that Nina was back at Crimson. He admitted that something seemed off, because he couldn't understand why Drew would rehire a woman that had sent Drew to prison.
Ava tried to downplay things by telling Sonny not to worry about Nina. Kristina noted that it was late, so she hugged Sonny on her way out. Afterwards, Sonny asked if Ava had chosen not to mention that Nina was back at Crimson. Ava claimed that she hadn't been aware that Nina had returned to Crimson because Nina hadn't called her. Sonny and Ava were interrupted by a knock. Diane entered to tell Sonny that Jason had set up an office at the warehouse. "Message received," Sonny said, and he left immediately.
Later, Sonny entered the warehouse and found Jason taking inventory. "What's up, Sonny?" Jason said cavalierly. "Damn it, Jason. I don't want you here. I want you gone," Sonny said sternly.
At Bobbie's Diner, Carly spoke to Drew on the phone and learned that John had questioned Drew about Jason. Drew asked Carly to let Jason know. Moments later, Olivia entered. Olivia complained at length about Nina firing a room service waiter named Pierce over a mix-up during peak hours. Carly acknowledged it hadn't been the first time, but Pierce had been with the hotel since Metro Court had first opened. Olivia promised to hire Pierce back; however, she felt bad for him because the staff knew about it, and he'd been humiliated. Olivia was also upset with some paint color choices that Nina had made for some upgrades that she hadn't consulted Olivia on.
After Olivia finished venting and left, a paralegal from Diane's office stopped by, looking for Diane, because she had some paperwork for Jason. Instead of sending the paralegal to the warehouse, Carly offered to take it to Jason and Diane.
After leaving the diner, Carly drove past an alley, where she saw two men beating a man up. Carly yelled for the men to leave the victim alone. The men promptly fled as Carly jumped out of the car and ran over to the man, who was sprawled out on the ground. The victim was revealed to be John. Carly helped a bloodied and beaten John to his feet. Later, Carly escorted John to his suite at Metro Court. She insisted on tending to his injuries, so he agreed and thanked her.
At Metro Court, Michael and Willow celebrated their wedding anniversary. Nina approached with a bottle of Champagne as a gift offering. Willow and Michael were not receptive. "Nina, the last time we spoke, I made it clear that I don't want to see you," Willow said. Nina assured Willow that she hadn't intended to intrude, but she was confused why Willow and Michael were there. Willow explained that she had picked the Metro Court for dinner because she had always liked it, and she didn't want to have to avoid it because of Nina. Willow admitted that she had assumed that Nina hadn't reached out to her recently because Nina had accepted and honored her wishes. Michael criticized and demeaned Nina. Nina apologized, and she said that she wouldn't bother them again. After Nina left, Willow asked if that had been as awful as it had felt.
Willow blamed herself and regretted that she hadn't picked the PC Grill or Café Cherie. She realized that it had been "wishful thinking" that Nina would keep her distance. Michael assured Willow that it had been on Nina, and he reminded her that they had already ordered Willow's favorite -- chocolate soufflé. Grateful for Michael's support, Willow told him that he was the "best husband."
Later, Michael presented Willow with a bracelet as an anniversary gift that Wiley had helped him pick out. Willow was touched by the gift, but she confessed that she had reservations about working because she missed out on time with the children. Michael assured Willow that it was her decision, but he suggested that she could follow his grandmother Lila's lead by helping people through charitable organizations of her choosing. Willow confessed that she had never imagined that she would have those kinds of choices, and she credited Michael with making her feel like the luckiest person in the world.
After Michael kissed his wife, he received a text message. Willow asked if something was wrong. Michael assured her that it was business, and he would talk to Drew about it in the morning. Willow asked how Drew was doing and if he seemed okay. She pointed out that they had never reached out to Drew for help with Jason, even though Drew was Jason's brother and both Drew and Michael worked together. Michael admitted that it had never occurred to him because Drew and Jason weren't close, and Drew hadn't said a word to him about Jason. Willow felt bad for Drew because she imagined that things felt as if they had changed overnight for him since his breakup with Carly.
Michael assured his wife that he felt bad for Drew, too, but he reminded Willow that no one could ever know that they had helped hide Jason. Willow agreed, but she couldn't help but wonder how Drew had been handling things. Michael promised that Drew could take care of himself.
In Drew's office at Aurora Media, a distraught Nina entered and told Drew about her encounter with Willow and Michael. She begged Drew to help her find a way back into Willow's life, but Drew told her that she was the one who had ruined that relationship, and she needed to take responsibility for her own actions. "You burnt that bridge. There's nothing that I can do," Drew said. Nina disagreed. She suggested that Drew appoint her to Aurora's board of directors because she reasoned that it would force Michael to deal with her. "And why would I help you?" Drew asked. Nina said that it would "drive Carly crazy."
Nina reminded Drew that he had already played hero for Carly, so she urged him to do something for himself for once. "By doing something for you," Drew said. Nina insisted that he would be helping her get close to her daughter, but Drew pointed out that Willow had made it clear that she didn't want to know Nina at all. Nina begged Drew to have some compassion because he knew what it was like to be separated from his child. "And whose fault was that?" he asked. "How dare you demand my help with your kid when you got me locked away from mine?" Drew demanded.
Nina argued that Drew and Carly had broken the law, but Drew accused her of making excuses. As they continued to argue, Drew started to walk away. Nina reached out to stop him by grabbing his shirt, but his shirt ripped open. "What is wrong with you?" Drew asked as he pulled off his shirt. Nina blamed the buttons, but anger quickly turned to passion as a shirtless Drew asked if there was something else Nina wanted.
Nina admitted that Drew had a nice body. Moments later, Nina began to unbutton her blouse, but Drew kissed her. He reminded her that a man let a lady say no. "Did I say no?" Nina asked. Drew kicked the door shut and kissed her. They made their way to the desk as Drew ripped off Nina's blouse.
At the Collins apartment, Laura picked up the living room as she told Kevin that Ace had finally fallen asleep. Kevin set his tablet down and focused on his wife as she sat on the sofa and admitted that she was worried because Ace's family kept getting smaller. She pointed out that Elizabeth's sons were older, so it was just Laura, Kevin, and Ace. "And Heather," Kevin said. Laura reminded Kevin that Heather was in Pentonville, prompting Kevin to ask why Heather hadn't been transferred to San Quentin, as arranged. Laura explained that the plans had been canceled because of Heather's medical condition, so Heather would remain at Pentonville for the foreseeable future.
"Unless something else occurs," Kevin suggested. He handed his wife the tablet to show her what he'd been reading. "Chemically induced abnormal behaviors," Laura read aloud. Kevin and Laura discussed the possibility of Heather's case being reopened and the outrage people would feel, including Heather's victims. "Unless it could be proven that Heather herself was victimized," Laura said.
Kevin confessed that a part of him selfishly hoped that Heather could be redeemed and rehabilitated into someone who was functional and stable and a person that Ace could get to know and have a relationship with. Kevin confessed that he blamed himself for how things had turned out because his one decision about Ryan had resulted in a series of devastating events. He pointed out that if Ryan hadn't escaped, Heather would still be institutionalized, and her victims would still be alive, including Spencer and Esme.
Laura reminded Kevin that -- if Esme hadn't been in their lives -- they wouldn't have Ace. She picked up her phone and showed Kevin an app that she used to monitor Ace while he slept. Kevin was impressed with the technology, so Laura asked if Kevin was okay, because she knew that he had never expected to raise a child late in life. Kevin assured her that Ace was an unexpected miracle, and he considered himself a lucky man. Touched, Laura hugged him.
At the Ashford residence, Curtis slowly entered his bedroom under his own steam, without assistance from a cane. When Portia called out to him, he invited her to join him. Moments later, Portia walked in and was delighted to see her husband walking without any aid. "One small step for man -- actually there's a bunch of little steps -- but one giant leap for yours truly," Curtis said as he sat on the bed. Portia told Curtis that he was amazing, but he insisted that she deserved all the credit because she had made it possible for him to walk. "Because of you, I have nothing but new chapters to write and can't wait to write them with you," Curtis said.
A short time later, Portia returned with a folder of bills, which she handed to Curtis as he sat in bed. He thanked her, but as he chatted, he realized that his wife was distracted. Portia filled Curtis in about Kevin and Alexis' discussion regarding Heather's metal poisoning and how it might lead to Heather's case being reopened. Curtis acknowledged that the metal poisoning had contributed to Heather's mental state, but he insisted that Heather had committed multiple homicides and shouldn't be allowed to go free. Portia agreed, especially since Trina had been through enough. Curtis assured Portia that they were in a good place and stronger as a family.
"We are, aren't we?" Portia asked. Curtis vowed to do whatever it took for Portia to feel safe, secure, and loved. She smiled and invited him to prove it. Curtis leaned forward and passionately kissed his wife. Later, Portia returned to the bedroom, wearing a slinky pink negligee. Curtis set his work aside as she joined him in bed. He smiled as he reminded his wife that they had never had a honeymoon. Portia returned his smile and kissed him.
At Kristina's apartment, Kristina and Blaze were cuddled on the sofa as they finished watching a movie. Their conversation quickly turned to Blaze being named the new Face of Deception. Blaze worried that her decision to keep her personal life private might cause problems with Kristina, but Kristina admitted that she was fine with things because their friends and family knew about their relationship. However, Kristina was curious how things were between Blaze and Natalia and if it might impact their romance. Blaze admitted that having a "control freak mom" had been helpful career wise, but she resented Natalia saying that she knew Blaze better than Blaze did.
Kristina empathized, but Blaze admitted that she understood that it was rooted in concern because Natalia had crossed the line a few times at Blaze's age before Natalia had become a mother. Kristina stroked her own belly as she conceded that motherhood changed a person's perspective, but she quickly clarified that she was "only an aunt." "You're not only anything," Blaze said. Blaze explained that her mother had been strict because she hadn't wanted Blaze to make the same mistakes that Natalia had. Kristina assured Blaze that Blaze was smart and disciplined and had built an incredible career for herself.
Blaze credited her mother for setting a good example, but she wished that Natalia could trust her the way that Kristina's parents did Kristina. Blaze sensed that something was troubling Kristina, so Kristina opened up about Sonny's living arrangements with Ava. Kristina acknowledged that Ava and Avery had moved in with Sonny for security reasons, but something had seemed off to Kristina, and she revealed that Dante had noticed it, too. Kristina mentioned that Ava had given Sonny alcohol, and she explained that Ava was a Jerome. According to Kristina, the Jerome family loved power. "It's like a drug," she said.
Blaze asked if Ava might move in on Sonny's business, but Kristina admitted that Ava was too smart to make a direct move. Kristina believed that Ava would slither in from the side, which was why Kristina was concerned that Ava had made herself indispensable to Sonny. Blaze was curious if Sonny saw it. "Worse, he likes it -- a lot," Kristina said.
In John's suite at Metro Court, Carly tended to his injuries by holding a makeshift ice pack to his face. She admitted that he looked like he'd been mugged by a small army. John grunted in pain because the ice hurt his injuries. Carly blamed it on the melting ice in the towel, which she had collected from the hotel's poorly maintained ice vending machine. She tried to convince him to let her take him to the hospital because she worried that he had a concussion. John flatly refused, so Carly announced that she would spend the night to monitor him and wake him every couple hours, if necessary.
John objected, but Carly's mind was made up. "I'm going to save you from yourself," she said. Later, John rested on the sofa as he asked Carly what time it was. "Almost midnight," she answered. John urged her to go home, so Carly agreed, provided that John would let her drop him off at the hospital. When John refused, Carly suspected that he hoped to avoid having to explain why he'd been on the waterfront at night. She was certain that John had been tracking Jason. To her surprise, he told her that she was warm.
Carly realized that John had been following Diane. He confirmed that it was true by offering to give her a cigar as a prize. Carly opted for a glass of wine at a time of her choosing. "Deal," John said. Carly joked that getting mugged was not generally a mood lifter, but it had made him fun. John assured Carly that he was fun -- she just didn't know him well enough to have seen that side of him.
Later, Carly returned to the suite with a fresh bucket of ice, but she continued to complain about the shoddy equipment. She assured him that things had been different under her watch, but John admitted that it was still a nice hotel. Moments later, John fell asleep. Carly turned off the lights and returned to her chair. “Sleep well, Agent Cates," she quietly said. She promised to wake him in a couple hours.
At Aurora Media, Drew and Nina stood up and began to get dressed. Nina accused Drew of planning the intimate encounter, but he reminded her that she had been the one to initiate things. Nina remained unconvinced, so Drew admitted that he had been fantasizing about her. "About you losing all of your money, about you losing all of your looks, and getting convicted of a nameless crime that gets you sent to prison," he said. "You remember, like you sent me," Drew added.
Nina wondered if Drew regretted having sex as much as she did, but Drew suggested they were two people who had been consumed by passionate mutual hatred with no acceptable outlet. "Think of it as a screwed-up spontaneous combustion," Drew proposed. Nina told him that she would consider it a "down payment" for him appointing her to Aurora Media's board of directors. Drew argued that Nina's only value to the company was as editor of Crimson, so there was no point. Frustrated, Nina begged Drew to help her find a pathway for her to get back into her daughter's good graces.
"Nina, you think that 45 minutes on my office floor with you commits me to dragging you out of the wreckage that you made of your life?" Drew asked. He warned her that it would take more than a couple of "rug burns" to convince him to help her. Undaunted, she told him how humiliated she'd been when Willow and Michael had rejected her gift, but Drew was unmoved. He accused Nina of disregarding Willow and Michael's wishes and doing what she wanted. "Which is so on brand for you," he said.
Nina assured Drew that she didn't care what he thought, but she explained that she had ended up in his office because she'd been hurt and had needed to catch her breath. She accused him of taking advantage of her emotionally vulnerable state, but Drew asked if the real reason that she had offered Willow and Michael dinner and Champagne was because she’d hoped they would tell Sonny about her generosity. "Does Sonny know that you're still pining for him?" Drew taunted. Nina raised her hand to slap him, but he caught her wrist. "I'll take that as a yes," he said with a smirk.
Nina warned Drew not to breathe a word of what had happened between them, but he assured her that Sonny wouldn't care because Sonny was busy with Jason's return. Nina disagreed, but Drew was certain that she wasn't on Sonny's radar, so Sonny wouldn't care who Nina slept with. "Maybe it's because he's got a new roommate," Drew suggested. Nina insisted that Ava was in the penthouse for security reasons, but Drew suggested that Nina was lying to herself. Annoyed, Nina circled back to Willow because she was desperate to find a way to be a part of her daughter's life. Drew explained that Michael would always see her as a threat because she had lied to Michael about Sonny's death, and she had sued Michael to gain access to Michael's child.
However, Drew conceded that Willow had a softer heart, and he was friends with her. Nina implored Drew to plead her case to Willow, but he admitted that Nina would have to make it worth his while, especially after his near-death beating in prison. Nina wanted to know what it would take for Drew to be her ally. Drew tossed her his shirt and suggested that she could start by sewing the buttons back on, but she threw it back at him and told him to mend it himself. Afterwards, she stormed out.
At the penthouse, Ava tossed and turned in bed, but she was unable to fall asleep. Frustrated, she got out of bed and made her way to the living room. She called out to Sonny, but he was not home, so she poured herself a drink. However, she had a change of heart and went to Sonny's bedroom to look for some medication that might help her fall asleep. Eventually, she ended up in the bathroom, where she found a prescription bottle of Lorphenadine. When she checked the warning label and saw that the medication caused drowsiness, she took two tablets.
Later, Ava was back in bed, but she remained restless. She realized that the medication hadn't made her drowsy, prompting her to question the medication.
At Corinthos Coffee, Jason insisted that he had a right to be in the warehouse because he owned 50 percent of the company. Sonny disagreed because Jason had vanished for two years. "You lost the right to take it back," Sonny said. Jason advised Sonny to take it up with Diane. Sonny insisted that it was his company, and he didn't want Jason near it.
Jason acknowledged that Sonny didn't want him involved in the "organization," but Jason refused to give up his half of the coffee business. Furious, Sonny made it clear that he didn't trust Jason, but Jason pointed out that Sonny would have been arrested long before if Jason had turned against him. Jason insisted that he'd been protecting Sonny. "I'm not a child! I don't need protection!" Sonny yelled. Jason assured Sonny that he would stay out of Sonny's way, but he promised that he was not a threat.
Sonny demanded the truth from Jason. "What were you doing with the Feds?" Sonny asked. Jason explained that he had told Sonny everything that he could, but he couldn't reveal certain details because it would violate the terms of his agreement with the FBI and result in charges being filed. Sonny was not pleased. He asked how many times Jason had taken a shot at him. Jason assured Sonny that he'd never fired at Sonny, and he reminded Sonny that he wouldn't have missed if he had.
Jason insisted that Port Charles was his home, and the coffee business was partly his. He explained that he didn't care what Sonny did, but he made it clear that he couldn't be a witness to Sonny's criminal activity. Sonny promised that he could get rid of Jason in a heartbeat, but Jason reminded Sonny that if anything happened to him, the police would question Sonny. Sonny reiterated that he couldn't trust Jason, and he would protect himself from Jason. "Because you're a traitor," Sonny angrily accused.
"Are you taking your meds?" Jason asked in a concerned tone. Sonny denied that he was having a breakdown because he took his bipolar medication like clockwork. Jason promised that he was not the enemy, and he didn't want trouble. Disgusted, Sonny told Jason that he could stay in the warehouse and sit there until Jason rotted. Sonny warned Jason not to double cross him again or interfere with his business or his life. "I. Will. End. You," Sonny threatened.
Marshall was sitting in the park when T.J. arrived with coffee for them. Marshall wondered why T.J. wasn't spending his morning off with Molly. T.J. vented his frustrations about his situation with Molly to his grandfather, including how he was still unsure about Kristina being their surrogate. He admitted that they were both worried, but Molly always defended Kristina. Marshall advised his grandson to breathe and focus on the bigger picture. He suggested that, since they couldn't change the situation, T.J. and Molly should spend time with each other "being partners before you become parents," and T.J. liked the idea.
Anna sat down with Valentin at the Metro Court restaurant and asked him for help on a case she was working on involving Pikeman. She was frustrated that no one could figure out who was running the corporation, and she wondered if he had any information he could share with her. She also asked him about Jack Brennan, as she remembered him and Valentin being close when they'd been "coming up with the WSB." Valentin insisted that she had mixed Valentin up with someone else, and he added that he had nothing useful to tell her. He did warn her that Pikeman and Brennan were dangerous. She reminded him that she could take care of herself, and she left.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Brook Lynn expressed her concerns about her wedding dress to Lois, who assured her daughter that everything would be fine. The designer and her assistant arrived with the dress, and Brook Lynn went with them to try it on. A short while later, Brook Lynn raved about how much she loved the dress, and she was looking forward to seeing Lois' dress. Lois emerged in her dress a few minutes later, and Brook Lynn was underwhelmed. She admitted that the dress didn't seem like Lois' style, and she urged her mother to wear what she wanted.
Chase arrived, and Brook Lynn could tell that something was up. The designer admitted that Chase had commissioned a dress for their honeymoon. The assistant entered with the black long-sleeved dress, and Brook Lynn raved about it. She loved it but thought that it would be too warm for Palm Beach. Chase divulged that the destination had changed, and Lois and the two women left the room. Chase finally told her that they were going to Florence, Italy, and Brook Lynn babbled on excitedly about the bucket list destination. She suddenly realized how expensive it would be, but he assured her that he had the money for it, as he'd sold his truck.
In Alexis' office, Nina and Alexis argued over DeWitt and his usefulness at the Invader. Alexis threatened to quit, so Nina pointed to the door, even though she knew that she needed Alexis. A courier arrived with a delivery for Alexis, so she signed for it, and he left. Molly arrived just in time to hear Nina state that DeWitt was staying, "end of discussion," and Nina stormed out. An exasperated Alexis asked for some good news that didn't involve the newspaper, but Molly admitted that she was there because of the newspaper.
Molly and Alexis talked about the article about Heather Webber, and Molly informed her mother that everyone at the D.A.'s office thought she was the "unnamed source." She wanted Alexis to prove that Molly hadn't talked about the case by telling Molly who the source was, but Alexis refused over and over again. "You win, again," Molly finally said. Molly spotted the paperwork the courier had delivered and revealed that it was from the office handling Alexis' disbarment appeal. Alexis nervously asked Molly to open it. Molly opened it, read it, and excitedly announced that Alexis was getting a hearing.
Carly woke up in Jagger's hotel room, and Jagger woke up minutes later. He grumbled that he was sore and tired, but Carly was just glad that he didn't have a concussion. Later, Jagger emerged from the shower and found Carly on the phone, arguing about missing room service. She learned that the food had been left outside the room without anyone knocking, and she stormed out to get it. Just as she opened the door, Nina walked by and spotted Jagger, clad only in a towel, behind Carly in the room. Carly wanted to file a complaint about the hotel, but Nina thought Carly was too busy for that. "Enjoy your stay," Nina said sweetly, and she walked away.
Carly got the food into the room, and Jagger emerged dressed a few minutes later. Carly explained that the hotel had gone way downhill since she'd owned it, and she talked about how much she missed it. Carly got ready to go a short while later, and Jagger thanked her for everything. He thought it had been good to be friends, "even if just for a minute." She guessed that he wasn't "allowed" to have friends, just in case he divulged classified information. "Something like that," he replied. "How do you know you don't talk in your sleep?" she asked with a smirk, and she left.
Curtis slowly walked into Drew's office, and Drew was amazed at Curtis' progress. Michael arrived, and Drew called the meeting "a meeting of the minds." He explained that the wellness and fitness industry was booming. Michael agreed that it was a good time to diversify and get alternate revenue streams. Drew explained that they needed someone to spearhead the initiative who had knowledge of the industry, strong leadership and customer service experience, and management skills. He thought that person could be Curtis.
Curtis was intrigued, and Drew asked how Curtis would start. Curtis said that he thought it would be practical to start buying up small gyms across the country, rebrand them, and combine them into a national high-end fitness club and one-stop shop for "mind-body connection." Just then, Nina burst into Drew's office, ranting about Carly, but she stopped when she saw Michael and Curtis. "What did you do now?" Drew questioned, and Michael wanted to hear what Nina had to say about his mother. Nina revealed that she thought Drew would want to know that Carly had moved on quickly, as she was sleeping with Jagger.
At the Metro Court restaurant, Alexis admitted that she missed Gregory at the Invader, and he said he missed it, too. She finally broke it to him that she couldn't be his plus-one for Chase and Brook Lynn's wedding because there was a chance she was getting her law license back. He was excited for her, but she was going back and forth between denial and "paralyzing anxiety." Gregory advised her to have faith and said that she would only regret the chances she didn't take.
Sasha was brushing a horse at the stables when Cody arrived. He asked her about her job search, and she answered that she'd applied for many things, but none of them were very interesting. Cody thought that any company would be lucky to have her. She added that she would soon run out of money, and she wondered if she was crazy for leaving Deception. She decided that it had been the right decision, and she had no regrets. He advised her to let him know when she figured out what she wanted.
At Home & Heart, Haven told Lucy and Maxie how excited her granddaughters were that she would be meeting Blaze, but Lucy revealed that she would be the spokesmodel for Deception that day. Haven ran off to check with her producer. Maxie didn't agree with Lucy's decision to do the segment herself and accused Lucy of only caring about her own opinion. Haven returned and told them that the producer had decided to cancel the segment rather than have Haven on air with an "amateur." Maxie insisted that that day's segment would sell out like every other one of Deception's segments, so Haven finally agreed. Later, as a horrified Maxie watched the segment, Lucy went from talking about the face cream to going on a tangent about all the drama in her life.
Tracy entered the Quartermaine sunroom as Brook Lynn was concluding a call about buying a pickup truck. Brook Lynn explained that she was buying Chase a new truck as a wedding gift to replace the one he'd had to sell to pay for their honeymoon. "Don't do it," Tracy stated quickly. She explained that Chase was traditional, and Brook Lynn replacing his truck would be seen as devaluing Chase's loving gesture.
Brook Lynn understood, but she feared that she and Chase would fall into the same pattern as the rest of the unhappy Quartermaine marriages. Tracy insisted that the couple would be fine as long as Brook Lynn remembered that the two had different frames of reference about money. She hugged her granddaughter and insisted that she would always be on Brook Lynn's side. Tracy excused herself to the stables and left.
Nina announced to Michael, Drew, and Curtis what she believed Carly had done the night before, and Curtis didn't think that it was Nina's business. Michael didn't believe it, and he left. Drew agreed that Carly had a right to privacy, but Nina thought Drew would want to know how quickly Carly had gotten over him. Nina and Curtis shared a friendly goodbye, and she left. Curtis thought that Nina's announcement had been uncalled for, but Drew didn't care what Carly did, since they were broken up, which surprised Curtis. Changing the subject, Drew was looking forward to talking about the fitness idea more. On his way out, Curtis advised Drew to go easy on Nina, as she was probably still hurting over Sonny. Drew assured Curtis that he and Nina had "reached an understanding," and Curtis left.
Carly arrived at the bar in the Metro Court restaurant and sat down with Michael, who told her about Nina's announcement. Carly told Michael what had actually happened with her and Jagger. Michael wondered if it bothered her that the man she'd helped wanted to bust Jason, but Carly insisted that she was sure there would be nothing for Jagger to find.
Diane arrived at Jason's office and informed him that his bank accounts had been unfrozen. He wondered if he had enough money to buy back Carly's half of the Metro Court so he could give it back to Carly. He insisted that he would let Nina name her price. However, Diane refused to let Jason overpay. She also warned Jason of how many times Carly had turned down others' help in getting the hotel back, but he promised that he would work things out with Carly. Diane also offered to help find him a place to live, but he maintained that he was happy in the room above Bobbie's.
Just then, Carly arrived with the papers that Jason was supposed to have signed the night before. Diane promised to pick them up later and left. Carly admitted that she'd done something he wouldn't like, and she told him everything that had happened with Jagger the night before. Carly feared that Sonny had had Jagger beaten up, but Jason wasn't sure about that. Jason advised her to stay out of it, but she told him about Nina seeing her with Jagger.
Nina arrived at the Crimson offices, and her assistant Madison gave her her messages. A short while later, as she talked on the phone about the service staff at the hotel, Diane arrived and informed Madison that she would be seeing Nina. She barged into the office, amid Madison's apologies, as Nina was done with her phone call. "If you're here for the divorce papers, you're wasting your time," Nina said coolly. Diane clarified that she was there to make an offer on Nina's half of the hotel on behalf of Jason.
There was a knock on the door, and Madison informed Nina that the accounting department needed her signature on something. Diane talked about how busy Nina had to be, juggling Crimson and the hotel. "I love them both," Nina insisted. The two haggled over how much over market value Nina would get, and they finally settled on 9%. Diane promised to take the number back to Jason, but Nina clarified that she hadn't yet made up her mind to definitely sell, so she needed to think about it. Diane warned that the offer wouldn't be there indefinitely. "If he wants it so bad, he can wait," Nina stated.
