Noah makes a dangerous romantic gesture to Paloma by climbing scaffolding in order to save his relationship with her, but the ropes give way, and Noah is left dangling from the rafters. Paloma tries to help, but Noah tells her that it's too dangerous. Paloma ignores Noah and grabs one of the ropes. As Paloma pulls in the rope, it starts to fray from the bottom, but neither Noah nor Paloma is aware of it. Noah begins to climb up towards the ledge. Paloma lets go of the rope and tells Noah to grab the ledge, but instead of listening to Paloma, Noah rambles on and on, pledging his love for her. As soon as Noah tries to grab hold of Paloma, the rope gives way, and he falls along with the scaffolding. Paloma screams for Noah.

Back at Tabitha's house, Kay and Tabitha view Noah's fall in the magic bowl, and Kay hopes that Noah gets out of it in one piece. Meanwhile, the demon elf has his own agenda and wants to see Miguel dead. He too sneaks a peek in the magic bowl via a magic tuba, and he wishes that the ropes give way so that Miguel could die. One of the ropes shreds and the scaffolding falls even further, putting Noah in more danger. Tabitha tells Kay that they could use magic to save Noah, and Kay refuses. Tabitha decides to turn the focus on the goings on in Mexico. She relishes in the misery in Mexico because she is so accustomed to doing evil. She tells Kay that Theresa could be dead since they were not able to locate her in the magic bowl before. Tabitha changes the focus back to Noah and Paloma. Kay decides not to use magic to save Noah. She realizes that Paloma is able to help Noah, so she tells Tabitha that she knew all along that she didn't have to use magic since she knows how the human heart works. The demon elf has his own agenda in that he wants to make sure that the ropes gives way and the fall kills Noah. He blows his evil vapors in the magic bowl, and the water turns to black.

Theresa is ashore and is able to hear Ethan in the distance. She starts hallucinating that she is reunited with Ethan, and she tells him the truth about Little Ethan and the part Gwen played in putting her and Pilar in danger. Ethan rakes Gwen over the coals for doing such a thing, and he threatens to sue Gwen over custody of Jonathan. Theresa comes to her senses and realizes that she was dreaming. She gets up and decides to head in Ethan's direction. She sees Ethan and reaches out to touch him, but she goes right through him. Theresa is confused and tries to figure out why she can see and hear her family, but they cannot hear her. She refuses to believe that she is dead. She keeps trying to talk to them and tells them that she is alive and well, but they cannot hear her.

On the other side of the pier, Luis and Miguel ask Pilar to tell them why she is in Mexico. She agrees to tell them the truth. She tells them that Juanita killed her sister and conveniently left herself out of the story, and Luis decides to let that part go for now, but he wants to know how Juanita knew how to find Pilar. Juanita taunts Gwen by telling her that she should be very afraid that her secret will soon be in the open, and she will lose Ethan. Pilar tells Luis that the story is not only about her. She looks at Gwen, but before she can say anything, a coast guard brings Theresa's blouse to them, and Pilar verifies that the blouse belongs to Theresa. The coast guard thinks that Theresa could have been eaten by sharks, but Ethan refuses to believe that since her body was not found. Pilar cries that she has lost another child, and she refuses to bear all the blame. She looks in Gwen's direction and tells Luis, Miguel, and Ethan that someone else is to be blamed as well. Gwen tells Luis to help Pilar because she is trying to make herself sick, and Pilar yells at Gwen, telling her that she is heartsick, but it won't stop her from telling the truth. Gwen is off the hook for now because Pilar is too distraught over Theresa. Juanita continues to taunt Gwen and tells her that she is safe for now since Pilar is too upset to tell her secret. Gwen has a worried look on her face. Ethan prays to God to protect Theresa.

Ivy tells Sam that it's typical of Theresa to leave her kids without uttering a word, but Sam disagrees. He thinks something must be wrong, and he adds that Theresa is a good mother. Sam gets a call from Mexico regarding Pilar and Theresa, and Ivy blames Theresa for putting Pilar in danger. After Sam tells Ivy that Theresa could be dead, she tells him that she never wished Theresa dead. She just wanted Theresa out of Ethan's life. Sam tells Ivy that he never thought that he could forgive her for what she did, and Ivy questions whether Sam has completely forgiven her. Sam says that he has forgiven her because a part of him has always loved her. Ivy promises Sam to let Ethan makes his choice regarding his companion. Moreover, she and Sam agree that Gwen would never do anything to hurt Ethan.

Ethan is mourning Theresa. Meanwhile her ghost is trying to get through to him. Miguel and Luis tell Ethan that Pilar has lost touch with reality because of the presumed death of Theresa. Ethan refuses to believe that Theresa might be dead. He rushes over to Juanita and demands to know how she knew of Pilar's whereabouts, and Juanita tells Ethan to ask Gwen that question. Ethan continues to lash out at Juanita and he tells her that she will rot in jail. Luis, Ethan, and Miguel set out to search for Theresa once more. Theresa's ghost continues to talk to Ethan, and he senses her presence. Even though he cannot see her, he tells Theresa how much she has changed his life and made him a new man. Ethan bids Theresa farewell. Theresa bids him farewell and then she is immediately taken away by a bright light.

Juanita taunts Gwen and tells her that she has lost Ethan to a ghost. In addition, she tells Gwen that if she helps her escape, she will not tell Ethan the truth. Gwen thinks that there is no way out because Pilar will tell Ethan the truth. Juanita manages to convince Gwen to hear her out, and she tells Gwen that she will make sure that Gwen has Ethan.

Paloma cries out for Noah, thinking that he has lost his life due to his tragic fall. She blames herself for Noah's death and wishes that she had more time with him. She states that she loves Noah, and to her surprise, Noah replies telling her that he loves her as well. Paloma is overjoyed that Noah is alive. Noah tells her that he is happy that they are back together, but Paloma tells him that they will never be together because she cannot trust him. She also refuses to be in a love triangle with Fancy. Noah tries to convince Paloma to stay with him, but she tells him to face the facts, and then she walks out on him.
